Historic triumph of Muslims at Ghazwa-e-Badr on 17th Ramazan

Muslims worldwide celebrated the historic Battle of Badr on the 17th of Ramazan, an event that holds profound significance in Islamic history, in a remarkable commemoration of faith and resilience.

This pivotal battle, which took place during the 2nd Hijri, stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of 313 companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to their faith.

Among these companions were 60 immigrants (Muhajirin) who had forsaken their homes and possessions to follow the Prophet (PBUH), alongside native residents (Ansar) of Medina. Despite facing overwhelming odds, including being vastly outnumbered and under-equipped, their determination remained steadfast.

The battle witnessed the heroic sacrifice of 14 Muslims, including six immigrants and eight locals, who laid down their lives to defend the nascent Muslim community. Despite their limited resources – only two horses, 70 camels, six protective shields, and eight swords – the Muslims’ unwavering faith propelled them forward.

Through what believers attribute to Allah’s mercy and divine intervention, victory ultimately smiled upon the Muslims, securing the survival of the Muslim community and heralding a transformative moment in the spread of Islam.

The Battle of Badr serves as a timeless reminder of the power of faith, unity, and divine assistance, inspiring Muslims worldwide to draw strength from the courage and conviction of those who stood resolute in the face of adversity, ensuring the enduring legacy and propagation of Islam.
