Houthis launch antiship ballistic missiles, no casualties reported

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported that Houthi forces in Yemen launched three “uncrewed aerial systems” and an antiship ballistic missile targeting vessels in the Gulf of Aden. According to CENTCOM, two drones were engaged and destroyed by US and coalition warships in the Red Sea, while the third drone crashed in the Gulf of Aden with no reported damage or injuries.

Additionally, an antiship missile was launched by Houthi forces early Tuesday, causing no harm or casualties, as per CENTCOM’s statement.

CENTCOM emphasized that these weapons posed an imminent threat to coalition forces and merchant vessels in the region but confirmed that no damage or injuries occurred.

The Houthi forces’ actions were reportedly triggered by Israel’s conflict in Gaza. They have declared war on vessels associated with Israeli firms or seaports, stating their campaign will cease when Israel ends its offensive in Gaza.
