How can Pakistan qualify for Asia Cup 2023 final?

All teams have played two games as the Asia Cup’s Super Four stage enters its final leg, with India being the only one to secure their spot in the final match of the tournament while Pakistan and Sri Lanka remain in contention.

India is the only team to have won both Super Four games, defeating Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The Blues have qualified for the competition’s final after two straight victories.

On the other side, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have split their Super Four matches, winning one and losing the other. Both Sri Lanka and Pakistan defeated Bangladesh, however the former’s NRR is marginally higher than the latter’s.

Pakistan’s NRR dropped to -1.892 following their 228-run loss to India.

With two losses in the two games, Bangladesh is now officially out of contention for the title match.

India has secured their spot in the championship game with four points in the Super Four stage, while Sri Lanka and Pakistan each have two points.

On September 14, the Green Shirts and the Lankan Tigers will face off in a game that must be won since the winner advances to the final match.

Rain will have no impact on India’s standing because they have already qualified for the final. Bangladesh has already been eliminated from contention for the title.

In contrast, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will each receive one point, but the Lankan Tigers will advance to the final game because of their higher NRR.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play on September 14 in Colombo at 2:30 p.m.
