On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, police teams in all the districts of the province including Lahore ensured the best arrangements for the security of the Christian worship prayer program in the churches. On the orders of IG Punjab, RPOs, DPOs formed an effective plan for the security of churches.
SPs, supervisory officers personally checked the security arrangements of churches and important places. Additional Police personnel and snipers were deployed at sensitive churches. Dolphin Squad, PRU, Elite teams ensured effective patrolling around churches. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the police officers and officials posted on security should be extremely alert and keep a close watch on the evil elements. Search and sweep operations continued around churches, Christian communities and sensitive places.
IG Punjab said that scholars, Christian community and members of peace committees should promote inter-faith harmony. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that the Punjab Police has established Meesaq Centers to solve the problems of the minorities including the Christian community on a priority basis where priority services are being provided to the Christian citizens.
