On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) addressed a petition alleging the poisoning of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan.

Presiding over the case, Justice Mian Gil Hassan Aurangzeb heard arguments regarding the necessity of a medical checkup to investigate the alleged poisoning incident. The judge expressed concern for Bushra Bibi’s well-being, seeking clarification on the status of her medical tests and overall health condition.

Responding to the inquiry, Abdur Rehman, the official lawyer, informed the court that Bushra Bibi had undergone comprehensive tests at Al-Shifa Hospital, under the supervision of Dr. Asim Yousaf, confirming her complete recovery and absence of any poison-related effects.

The judge sought further details about the alleged poisoning, to which the lawyer reiterated the absence of evidence indicating any poisoning. Additionally, the applicant’s counsel expressed Bushra Bibi’s desire to personally address the court.

However, considering Bushra Bibi’s sound health and the lack of substantiated claims, the judge decided to dismiss the petition, as there was no evidence to support the allegations against her.
