IHC responds to negative social media campaign against Justice Babar Sattar

The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Aamir Farooq, has taken action against individuals involved in a detrimental social media campaign targeting Justice Babar Sattar.

This action was prompted by a letter from Justice Babar Sattar to Chief Justice Aamir Farooq, expressing concerns about the malicious campaign.

The letter, which led Chief Justice Aamir Farooq to initiate contempt of court proceedings, highlights the seriousness of the matter.

Allegations arising from the campaign, especially those concerning Justice Babar Sattar’s citizenship status, have necessitated prompt judicial intervention.

Sources close to the Islamabad High Court disclosed that contempt of court proceedings will begin after Justice Sattar’s letter is assigned a diary number on Tuesday.

Following this, a bench will be formed to oversee the case and ensure fair proceedings.

The social media campaign, which has gained momentum with its unfounded allegations against Justice Babar Sattar, has been condemned by the Islamabad High Court.

In an earlier statement, the court categorically refuted the accusations, reaffirming its dedication to upholding justice and integrity.
