Brothers of ex-CM Punjab included in case registered in ACE’s DG Khan police station

The Lahore High Court Bahawalpur Bench has granted protective bail till June 30 to former chief minister of Punjab and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Buzdar.

The LHC bench on Monday stopped the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) from arrest of Buzdar till the next hearing. Former CM Punjab had contacted the court after a case was registered against him for transferring 900 kanals of land illegally in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Senior Judge Justice Shujaat Ali Khan was hearing the case in which he granted protective bail and postponed the hearing till June 30. ACE officials said in the court that a case was registered against Buzdar.

Earlier, a case was registered against the former chief minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar for alleged 900-kanal illegal land transfer in Tonsa, Dera Ghazi Khan.

The case against the former CM Punjab has been registered by provincial Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE). The case has been derived on basis of a report submitted to ACE by the deputy commissioner of DG Khan. The case includes the provisions of transferring land through forgery.

The media has reported that Usman Buzdar’s brothers are also included in the case. The case has been registered in ACE’s Dera Ghazi Khan police station.

Previously, PML-N Deputy Secretary General Attaullah Tarar had hinted upon the registration of a case against ex-CM Buzdar. Tarar had said that Buzdar had deprived the poor from their rights by plundering the government’s resources. He had said that Usman Buzdar would have to answer for his corruption.

Atta Tarar had alleged that former prime minister Imran Khan had facilitated Buzdar’s corruption.

Police has started its proceedings after registration of the case and an inquiry regarding the matter has been initiated.
