Imran’s conspiracies to harm Pakistan’s foundations will fail: Tarar

On Monday, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan of attempting to undermine the country’s foundations, asserting that these efforts would fail.

During a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar emphasized the government’s focus on trade and investment rather than seeking aid. He highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s consistent message during international visits that Pakistan needs investment.

Tarar announced the establishment of seven desks under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to attract investment from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, China, the European Union, the US, and the Far East. He noted that investors from these friendly countries have expressed satisfaction with the one-window facility provided by the SIFC.

He revealed that the UAE has committed to a $10 billion investment in Pakistan, while Saudi Arabia is progressing toward a $5 billion investment. Tarar expressed confidence that these investments would come to fruition.

The Information Minister also mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would soon visit China to boost the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Tarar highlighted the improving state of the country’s economy, citing a decline in the Current Account Deficit and inflation, and a surge in IT exports. He pointed out that international financial institutions are recognizing Pakistan’s economic revival. He noted that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation had issued a positive press release, mentioning a 17 percent decrease in inflation in recent days and an increase in foreign exchange reserves.

Additionally, Tarar mentioned the rapid privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the overall economic upturn. He criticized ongoing propaganda, accusing certain individuals of prioritizing political interests over national interests, particularly those claiming that Pakistan cannot exist without Imran Khan.
