Inactive police front desks irk citizens in Faisalabad

Due to the inattention of the information technology department of Faisalabad police, the establishment of front desks in five police posts of the district has been limited to photo sessions only.

After a lapse of one and a half months, the front desks at these check posts have not been activated due to which a large number of citizens are deprived of basic facilities.

It was decided by the IT department of the district police to set up front desks at five police posts of Faisalabad in Tariqabad, Bachiana, Jhouke Ditta, City Jhumra and Barnala for the convenience of the people.

Last year, staff, along with the supply of computers, furniture and other equipment, was also deployed in these posts for the establishment of front desks. On November 25, 2021, the local media was invited to these posts and a photo session of these front desk counters was held. The establishment of front desks at these five police posts was well-publicised by Faisalabad police, but later the plan wasn’t put into practice.

The purpose of setting up front desks in these posts was to issue e-tags to the citizens. In addition to this, a report of any kind of disappearance, registration of tenancy, and a copy of the FIR of the concerned police station were to be provided. But after a lapse of one and a half months, the front desks at all the five police posts are still inactive, with no basic facilities being provided to the citizens.

Flexes regarding all the basic facilities provided to the public are also displayed in these five posts. However, when the citizens contact them regarding the launch of these facilities, the outpost police send them back under various pretexts. The activation of these front desks by the information technology department of the district police has become a mystery. But despite the demands of the citizens, no facility is being provided from these front desks yet.

In this regard, the police spokesperson said that all preparations for the operation of these front desks are complete, with the issue of networking to be resolved in the coming days. “And after connecting the computers to the network, all basic facilities will be provided to the citizens,” he assured.
