Information Minister Uzma Bukhari highlights CM Punjab’s resolve and media support

Information Minister Uzma Bukhari emphasized the unwavering commitment of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, stating that the word “no” does not exist in her dictionary.

Addressing the media at the Islamabad Press Club, Minister Bukhari underscored the importance of accurate and truthful reporting while expressing the government’s staunch support for the media. She reiterated that while there is no intention to curb freedom of the press, efforts must be made to curb the dissemination of false information.

Minister Bukhari reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fostering a media-friendly environment, citing ongoing efforts to provide necessary resources and support to journalists. She addressed concerns regarding journalist support funds, assuring that the government is actively addressing these issues and working to expedite pending applications.

Additionally, Minister Bukhari highlighted the significance of infrastructure development, particularly the construction of Media Town Phase 2 in Islamabad, which aims to enhance accessibility and convenience for media professionals.

Furthermore, Minister Bukhari outlined plans to establish a journalist society in Islamabad, mirroring the successful model in Lahore. She commended Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s relentless dedication to public service, emphasizing the government’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of citizens.
