Iqra Aziz renounces project with Feroze Khan

Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz has decided to withdraw from her collaboration with Feroze Khan to help victims of domestic abuse in addition to being outspoken about the side she supports.

On Wednesday, Iqra along with her husband Yasir Hussain stands with Khan’s ex-wife Aliza Sultan, who recently provided records and pictures of her injuries in a Karachi family court as evidence of abuse.

Iqra wrote in her Instagram post, “To stay silent in the face of injustice is to side with the oppressor… I have made the difficult but necessary decision to retract my project with Feroze Khan as a sign of support for victims of domestic abuse. I support Aliza Sultan for seeking justice, more strength, and power for you.”

Iqra Aziz and Feroze Khan had worked together as leading pair in Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.

Pictures of Aliza Sultan with injuries as well as her ER and MLO reports began to become viral on social media on Tuesday, along with a report from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre’s Accident and Emergency Department describing “blunt injuries on arms, back, chest, and face.”

According to the preliminary diagnosis, it was an “assault.”

Feroze Khan issued a statement on Tuesday night, refuting all claims of abuse made against him. He referred to them as baseless, and untrue.

The family court is now hearing two cases, one brought by Khan for custody of their two children and one brought by Sultan for child support. The case will be heard again on November 1.
