Iran football player is expected to be executed for campaigning for women’s rights in his country.

FIFPRO World Players’ Union regarding news stated that FIFPRO is shocked and sickened by reports that professional footballer Amir Nasr-Azadani faces execution in Iran after campaigning for women’s rights and basic freedom in his country.

FIFPRO also demanded the removal of his punishment.

To dissuade protesters, the nation had been treating them harshly and punishing those who advocated for women’s rights and freedom including Nasr-Azadani, 26.

Earlier on Monday Iran executed Mohsen Reza by publically hanging him in Mashhad.

23-year-old Majid Reza Rahnavard was accused of moharebeh (waging war against God).

Iran also executed Mohsen Shikari last week for using a cold weapon to threaten residents and hurting a security guard while there were protests in the Sattar Khan district of west Tehran.

As a protest for Mahsa Amini, the Iranian national team declined to sing the national anthem before their match against England at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in protest of Amini’s passing.

Iran lost to England, the US, and Wales in the group stage of the Qatar 2022 tournament.
