Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, has set a four-day ultimatum for the Punjab government, threatening a sit-in outside the CM House if wheat procurement does not commence within the given timeframe.

Speaking to the media at Mansoorah, Rehman emphasized the urgent need for the Punjab government to initiate wheat procurement and urged the immediate withdrawal of any decision hindering the process.

He stressed the JI’s unwavering support for farmers and vowed not to remain passive on this critical issue. Rehman highlighted the pervasive economic challenges facing Pakistan, asserting that no institution is immune to the country’s deteriorating economic conditions.

He pointed out the trend of prominent industrialists relocating their capital abroad and emphasized the necessity for subsidies on essential commodities, including wheat.

Additionally, Rehman called for transparency regarding the import of wheat worth US$1 billion, advocating for a judicial inquiry to hold accountable those responsible.
