Janhvi Kapoor opens up on ‘Dostana 2’ shelving with Karthik Aryan

In a recent interview, Janhvi Kapoor discussed the unexpected halt of her film ‘Dostana 2’, starring Kartik Aaryan and Laksh Lalwani, revealing that despite a month of shooting, she remains uncertain about the reasons behind the decision.

“We shot for the film for about 30 to 35 days, and everything seemed to be going well. However, I’m still unsure why the film was shelved,” Kapoor shared.

She explained that production was underway long before the onset of the pandemic, but delays caused by Covid-19 may have contributed to the decision to halt production.

When asked about speculation surrounding Aaryan’s alleged fallout with Karan Johar, Kapoor refrained from commenting directly, suggesting that it’s best to inquire with the individuals involved.

‘Dostana 2’ was announced by Karan Johar in 2019 with Kapoor, Aaryan, and Lalwani in lead roles, under the direction of debut filmmaker Collin DCunha.

Meanwhile, Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her sports drama ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ alongside Rajkummar Rao, scheduled for May 31. Aaryan’s sports biopic ‘Chandu Champion’ is set to hit theaters on June 14.
