‘Jeet Ka Safar’: Pakistan’s 2009 T20 cricket team players visit US states

A delegation comprising the players of the 2009 T20 cricket team, including Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Malik, Fawad Alam, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, and Umar Gul, traveled to various states of the United States under the banner of “Jeet Ka Safar”.

Upon their arrival in Houston and Dallas, the delegation received a warm welcome, and several events, including a cricket match, were organized.

During an exclusive interview with Geo News, former cricketer Misbah expressed hope that the Pakistani team would perform exceptionally well in the upcoming World Cup in America.

Misbah emphasized Pakistan’s strong performance in the last two World Cup finals and highlighted the current team’s capabilities, stating that Pakistan possesses all the necessary resources to excel.

He stressed the importance of preparation, strategy formulation, and fitness, emphasizing the significance of strong team performance.

Regarding the US trip, Misbah praised the enthusiasm and warm reception of the people in Houston, likening it to the atmosphere in Karachi.

Former player and coach Younis Khan also shared his insights, stating that preparations for the World Cup were underway in America. He expressed his intention to advise the Pakistani team on their playing style.

Organizer Rafa Ahmed described the successful experience of bringing the Pakistani team to the US and expressed plans to arrange visits for Indian and Pakistani teams in the future.
