Justice Babar Sattar holds only Pakistani citizenship: IHC

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) clarified on Sunday that Justice Babar Sattar holds only Pakistani citizenship and has no citizenship from any other country.

The IHC statement said that Justice Sattar’s children chose Pakistani citizenship after he became a judge. At the time of his appointment, the then-chief justice was made aware of Justice Sattar’s green card.

The statement also mentioned that Justice Sattar’s mother has been running a school since 1992, where Justice Sattar’s legal firm was an advisor and helped collect school fees.

Justice Sattar had permanent residency in the United States, where he worked until 2005. After that, he returned to Pakistan and has been working here since.

The IHC emphasized that Justice Sattar has declared his assets and filed tax returns in both Pakistan and the United States.
