Karachi Police issues security plan for local body polls

Karachi Police has issued a security plan for Sunday’s local body elections in the city.

According to a police spokesman, more than 43,605 Karachi police personnel will perform security duties in the election.

A police spokesman said that 17,588 officers and personnel had been deployed in the East Zone, out of which 6,533 personnel will be deployed in East District, 4,837 in Malir, and 6,218 in Korangi.

A total of 11,627 officers and employees had been deployed in the South Zone, of which 2,155 were in the South District, 4,558 were in the Central District, and 4,914 were in Kemari.

A total of 14,390 officers and employees had been deployed in the West Zone, including 9,672 in the Central District and 4,718 in the West District.

The spokesman said that 26,050 police officers and personnel will perform election duty at 4,997 polling stations in Karachi during the elections.

A total of 5,844 officers and employees will be deployed at 1,048 polling stations in the south district.

A total of 11,206 personnel will be deployed at 2,046 polling stations in the east district.

9,000 officers and employees will perform election duty at 1,903 polling stations in the west district.

According to a police spokesman, 500 Rangers personnel and 200 FC personnel will also be on election duty in Karachi.
