Lahore experiences cold weather after rainfall

Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab experienced a delightful change in weather as rain graced the city over the past 24 hours bringing a welcome respite from the scorching heat. The downpour not only cooled the temperatures but also lent Lahore a winter-like ambiance much to the delight of its residents.

According to meteorological reports, various areas of Lahore received varying amounts of rainfall with significant measurements recorded across the city. Jail Road saw 8.5 millimeters of rainfall while Gulberg and Lakshmi Chowk witnessed 10 and 14 millimeters respectively. Other areas including Upper Mall, Mughalpura and Tajpura also experienced refreshing showers ranging from 3 to 5 millimeters.

However, the rain did come with its share of challenges as it severely impacted the city’s power transmission system. More than 100 Lesco feeders tripped leading to widespread power outages in several neighbourhoods. Areas such as Manawan, Batapur, Sabzazar and Samanabad among others faced disruptions in electricity supply causing inconvenience to residents.

Despite the inconvenience caused by power outages, the rain was largely welcomed by Lahoris who relished the opportunity to experience cooler temperatures reminiscent of the winter season. The refreshing showers provided a much-needed break from the sweltering heat offering respite to both residents and the city’s flora and fauna.

As Lahore dons its winter-like cloak following the rainfall, residents can savour the cool breeze and enjoy the picturesque atmosphere that accompanies such weather. With the promise of more rain in the forecast, Lahore continues to embrace the beauty and diversity of its climate providing its inhabitants with memorable experiences throughout the year.
