Launch of advocate Veerji Kolhi’s book on freedom fighter Ropplo Kolhi

Advocate Veerji Kolhi’s book on the esteemed freedom fighter Ropplo Kolhi is set to be launched soon. Kolhi, who previously served as the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Human Rights, expressed his excitement about the upcoming launch.

He mentioned that his book, translated into English by Mr. Aslam Khwaja, will be unveiled in a grand ceremony. Reflecting on the significance of the project, Kolhi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to document the life and sacrifices of Ropplo Kolhi in Sindhi.

He emphasized the importance of honoring heroes like Ropplo Kolhi, who made immense sacrifices while defending their homeland against invaders. Kolhi extended his appreciation to Mr. Khwaja for translating his work into English, enabling a wider audience to access the story.

The book was originally penned in Sindhi and published by Kavita Publications in 2022. Kolhi highlighted Ropplo Kolhi’s bravery and recounted his courageous 18-year struggle against the invaders, ultimately attaining immortality in history despite being executed by the British on August 22, 1858.

He expressed hope that the translated version would serve as a valuable resource for those unable to read Sindhi, offering insight into the remarkable legacy of Ropplo Kolhi and his companions.
