Lawyers, Sher Afzal Marwat under fire in PTI Core Committee meeting

There are reports of internal rifts in the core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Sources said that concerns were expressed regarding the effectiveness of the legal team and lawyers in delivering the message of founder chairman Imran Khan to the courts and media.

During the PTI core committee meeting, participants raised concerns regarding the distribution of tickets by members, with Mishal Yousafzai criticized for awarding tickets to a particular candidate.

Sources within the PTI core committee stated that Mishal Yousafzai mentioned that Imran Khan did not explicitly mention the name of the candidate in question. Additionally, Shahbaz Gul criticized the legal team and lawyers for failing to effectively communicate the directives of the founder chairman to the core committee.

Furthermore, the core committee was presented with a message from the founder chairman regarding Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, indicating that she would not be involved in any political activities or issue directives to the party.

Aleema Khan would not interfere in the political or other matters of the party and would not give instructions to party members.

Reservations were also expressed during the core committee meeting regarding a list submitted by Sher Afzal Marwat to the superintendent of Adiala Jail to meet Imran Khan. The committee members questioned how Sher Afzal Marwat made this decision independently and why Barrister Gauhar did not inform the core committee about the matter.

In response, the core committee decided that future lists of individuals seeking to meet Imran Khan would be compiled in consultation with the core committee itself. This decision was made to ensure that the directives of the founder chairman are accurately conveyed and that only individuals approved by the core committee will have access to meet Imran Khan.
