LHC orders release of Yasmin Rashid and 17 women activists

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday suspended the detention notification of 17 women workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The court suspended the detention notification of former PTI minister Yasmin Rashid and ordered that Dr. Yasmin Rashid should be released if she is not wanted in any case.

Justice Safdar Saleem Shahid of the Lahore High Court ordered the immediate release of all the women.

Earlier, PTI leader Andleeb Abbas reported that the police have arrested Yasmin Rashid.

In a statement, Andleeb Abbas said that Yasmin Rashid was not present in the house during the police raids, two days ago Yasmin Rashid’s husband and brother-in-law were also arrested.

She said that Yasmin Rashid’s husband was released after his health deteriorated, while Yasmin Rashid’s brother-in-law is still in police custody.
