LHC rejects plea of removing Farhat Shehzadi’s children from ECL

The Lahore High Court on Wednesday, has dismissed a petition requesting the removal of Farhat Shehzadi’s children from the exit control list (ECL). Farhat Shehzadi is known to be an acquaintance of former first lady Bushra Bibi.

A single judge on the high court bench, Justice Rassal Hassan Syed, delivered the reserved verdict, rejecting the petition. The court had previously reserved its decision after hearing arguments from the lawyers.

The state counsel argued that Farhat Shehzadi is a proclaimed offender in NAB cases and wishes to take her children abroad. The counsel emphasized that all actions against Farhat Shehzadi are being carried out within the bounds of the law.

The petition in question had been submitted to the Lahore High Court, seeking the removal of Farhat Shehzadi’s children from the no-fly list. The Interior Ministry was included as a party in the plea, alleging that the ministry had placed the names of the complainant’s children on the Exit Control List (ECL).
