Lovely exchange between Sarmad Khoosat, Nadia Afgan leaves fans in awe

Sarmad Khoosat and Nadia Afgan have engaged in the loveliest conversation ever on Instagram, reminding fans of their popular sitcom ‘Shashlik’ from the early 2000s.

This happened when Sarmad Khoosat released the trailer of his upcoming directorial venture ‘Kamli’ to the amazement of millions of viewers who could not help admire the creativity infused in the very trailer of the Saba Qamar and Sania Saeed starrer.

Nadia Afgan, who happens to be an old colleague and a dear friend of Sarmad Khoosat, also took to her social media to re-share the trailer with the caption, “The one and only Sarmad Khoosat brings to you KAMLI – a tale of love, loss and cloaked secrets.”

Sarmad Khoosat responded to Afgan’s words by saying, “My Mishi – yours forever, Cheekoo.” People who have watched ‘Shashlik’, which starred these two greats together, instantly knew what Sarmad meant by Mishi, his love interest from the highly popular sitcom ‘Shashlik’, performed by Nadia, in which he himself played the character of an effeminate young boy named Cheekoo. People who grew up watching ‘Shashlik’ could not help fall for this way of interaction, as for them, both Sarmad Khoosat and Nadia Afgan are but Cheekoo and Mishi regardless of each’s multiple famous roles during almost twenty years following the release of ‘Shashlik’.

While ‘Shashlik’ was Sarmad’s initial attempt at direction, the two continued to work with each other long after in both dramas and films, some directed by Sarmad himself and some by other directors who had come to appreciate their on-screen chemistry. A few examples are the film ‘Manto’ and drama serials ‘Shehr-e-Zaat’, ‘Dil Mohalle Ki Haveli’ and ‘Baaghi’.
