Major (R) Adil Farooq Raja, Captain (R) Haider Raza Mehdi sentenced to Field General Court Martial

In a significant development, Major (Retired) Adil Farooq Raja and Captain (Retired) Haider Raza Mehdi, both former officers of the Pakistan Army, have been found guilty and sentenced by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act of 1952. The charges against them include inciting sedition among army personnel, neglecting duties, and violating the provisions of the Official Secrets Act of 1923 related to espionage and actions detrimental to the safety and interests of the State.

The convictions of both individuals were confirmed by a court of competent jurisdiction on October 7th and 9th, 2023, following a thorough judicial process. The punishments meted out were as follows:

– Major (Retired) Adil Farooq Raja: 14 years of rigorous imprisonment.

– Captain (Retired) Haider Raza Mehdi: 12 years of rigorous imprisonment.
