Makers of “Pushpa 2: The Rule” rush to replicate international locations in India

To meet the tight deadline for the August 15 release of “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the film’s makers are working on replicating international locations within India, according to Indian media reports.

Directed by Sukumar, the sequel to “Pushpa” will recreate settings from Malaysia, Japan, and Bangkok using sets in Hyderabad, India.

Director Sukumar opted to forego shooting in foreign countries to save time and ensure timely completion of the highly anticipated sequel.

Instead, replica sets will be constructed at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.

The decision was made to accommodate scenes set in the late 90s and early 2000s, requiring specific location changes.

In “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” Allu Arjun’s titular character will confront the main antagonist, Fahadh Faasil’s SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, while Rashmika Mandanna reprises her role as Srivalli, Pushpa’s wife, from the first film.
