Maryam Nawaz wants female CMs in other provinces too

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz expressed her views on Women’s Day during a ceremony held at a local hotel in Lahore, emphasizing that every day should be celebrated as Women’s Day. She stressed her desire to see women leading as chief ministers in other provinces as well.

In her address, Maryam Nawaz avoided delivering a conventional speech and instead shared her personal thoughts. She highlighted the importance of the Women’s Development Department and praised the resilience of women, citing her companions who were pilot officers.

Acknowledging the progress made in empowering women, she commended the establishment of women’s desks in police stations under the leadership of the Inspector General (IG) Punjab. Maryam expressed her eagerness to visit wearing a police uniform.

She lauded the achievements of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Amara Athar, and reflected on her own journey to success. Maryam mentioned the development of a safety app called ‘Never Again’ and expressed gratitude for the challenges she faced, which contributed to her growth.

Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of recognizing the struggles of every woman and condemned harassment, asserting it as her red line. She encouraged girls to pursue their aspirations in work and education, advocating for their empowerment.
