Maulana Fazlur Rehman to reveal anti-country conspiracies on May 9

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, has set the date for unveiling the future action plan of the party, aiming to counter conspiracies against the nation.

Addressing an organizational meeting via video link at the Mufti Mehmood Center in Peshawar, Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized the urgency of restoring genuine democracy by dismantling the current imposed system through a freedom movement. He expressed concern over the governance by what he termed as fake assemblies and vowed to safeguard the country’s interests.

Highlighting the historical role of Jamiat Ulema Islam in combating election rigging, Maulana Fazlur Rehman cited instances from the past, including the movement led by Maulana Mufti Mehmood against rigging in 1977.

He lamented the recurrence of electoral malpractice in 2018 and again in 2024, criticizing the silence of those who previously opposed rigging but remained quiet in the face of current irregularities. Maulana Fazlur Rehman underscored the party’s commitment to resisting coercion and advocating for justice.

Announcing plans for a public rally in Peshawar on May 9, Maulana Fazlur Rehman vowed to expose conspiracies against the country. He reiterated the importance of unity among political parties and affirmed Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s determination to lead the movement independently if necessary.

Expressing concern over the state of Pakistan’s institutions and its economic challenges, Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the government’s handling of national affairs and called for a stronger stance against external threats, particularly from India.
