May 9 rally case: Gohar, Omar, others granted interim bail

The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, along with leaders Omar Ayub and Amir Mughal.

Judicial Magistrate Arshad Mahmood Jasra presided over the hearing of the pre-arrest bail application filed by the local PTI leadership regarding a protest rally held on May 9. Barrister Gohar, Shoaib Shaheen, and Amir Mughal attended the court session along with their legal representatives.

Subsequently, the court approved interim bail for the PTI leaders on a bond of Rs5,000 each and issued notices to the concerned parties. The hearing of the case has been adjourned until May 21, with arguments to be presented at that time.

On May 9, PTI organized rallies in various cities, including a demonstration in the G-9 center of Islamabad. During this event, a confrontation occurred between PTI and the police, who attempted to arrest Barrister Gohar, but were prevented by PTI workers.

Earlier, police had detained Rehana Dar, the mother of PTI leader Usman Dar, in Sialkot.
