Maya Ali, Nadia Jamil to reappear in a Haissam Hussain project

Written by Ali Moeen, directed by Haissam Hussain, 'Jo Bichar Gaye' starts from Dec 12 on GEO TV

Almost a decade has passed since the blockbuster serial ‘Durr-e-Shehwar’ hit our screens. Written by Umera Ahmed and starring Mikaal Zulfikar, Sanam Baloch, Maya Ali, Nadia Jamil, Qavi Khan and Sameena Pirzada, ‘Durr-e-Shehwar’ was the directorial work of Haissam Hussain, who back then, was at the peak of his career for his off-beat style of presenting stories on screen and had several popular projects like ‘Nurpur Ki Rani’, ‘Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan Bhi Tha’, ‘Aik Nayi Cinderella’, ‘Akbari Asghari’ and ‘Dastaan’ in his work profile.

After directing the serial turned film called ‘Bin Roye’ in 2016 and ‘Balu Mahi’ in 2017, Hussain took a break, but is now back with a bang.

Set to start from December 12 on GEO TV, ‘Jo Bichar Gaye’ has been penned by veteran writer and poet, Ali Moeen, and directed and produced by Hussain.

Being made under the banner of H2 films, ‘Jo Bichar Gaye’ has roped in all the talented seniors and juniors from the industry, such as Wahaj Ali, Maya Ali, Talha Chahour, Aurangzeb Mirza, Nadia Jamil, Adnan Jaffar, Sajid Shah, Fazal Hussain, Rana Majid, Umer Darr, Ahmed Abbas, Shireen Zahid, Usman Zia, Omar Cheema, Zaheer Taj and Fahad Hashmi.

Umer Darr, one of the performers from the serial and a former student of Government College University (GCU), where a major portion of the serial seems to have been shot, tells that ‘Jo Bichar Gaye’ revolves around 1971.

The trailer of the serial also promises a narrative inspired from true events, something that the entire team deems what the project endeavours to do. ‘Jo Bichar Gaye’ will be airing on Sundays and is an addition to the multiple dramas, telefilms and films being made on 1971 for the public to have an in-depth understanding of the political scenarios that snowballed into the separation of East and West Pakistan.
