Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the long-standing sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, was reported missing five days ago.
Indian media outlets have revealed that Delhi police are investigating a kidnapping case filed by his parents after he disappeared while traveling from Delhi to Mumbai.
CCTV footage obtained by the police shows Singh walking with a backpack in the Palam area of Delhi at 9:14 pm on April 22, the day he went missing.
DCP South-West Delhi Rohit Meena stated that Singh’s family reported his departure for Mumbai on April 22 at 8:30 pm, but he hasn’t been seen since.
The police have registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC and are pursuing multiple leads, including CCTV footage and technical evidence analysis.
Singh’s parents stated he was supposed to catch a flight from Delhi to Mumbai at 8:30 am on April 22, but he didn’t board it.
His phone remained active until April 24, with multiple transactions recorded.
Singh portrayed the character of Sodhi in the popular sitcom until 2020.
