Mufti Tariq Masood criticizes tattoos of celebrities

Mufti Tariq Masood, an Islamic scholar with a degree in Islamic education from Jamia Tur Rasheed, has become a popular religious figure in Pakistan.

Known for addressing various issues and practices affecting traditional Islamic values, his videos often go viral on social media.

Recently, he appeared on YouTuber Nadir Ali’s program, “Ilm Or Alim,” discussing the religious perspective on tattoos.

Mufti Tariq Masood strongly emphasized that engraving tattoos on the body is strictly forbidden in Islam, considering it a cursed and unacceptable practice.

Describing it as “Jism Gndhwana” or defiling the body, he mentioned that the act involves cutting the skin and is irreversible for a lifetime.

Individuals with tattoos, whether by choice or accident, are obliged to live with them, even during prayers.

Mufti Tariq Masood asserted that tattoos, intended to alter or enhance appearance, are deemed wrong in Islamic teachings.

Additionally, he highlighted that according to various Islamic scholars, performing Waddu (ablution) with tattoos is not permissible as water may not fully touch the skin.

Since Hania Amir and Alizeh Shah are more open about their tattoos and are seen posting their tattoos on their Instagram feed, fans speculate that Mufti’s comments are a dig at both actresses.
