The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has taken steps to improve its services and ensure the security of its database.
These actions follow recommendations from a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) set up by the caretaker prime minister to look into a cyber security incident in March 2023.
The JIT, led by the Director of Cyber Crime at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), conducted an investigation and submitted its report to the prime minister.
Based on the report’s findings and recommendations, Nadra was instructed to take necessary actions.
The JIT also suggested upgrading Nadra’s technology and initiating departmental and criminal proceedings against those responsible for the security breach.
