Names of Azam Khan and others removed from ECL in NCA £190m case

According to reports, the federal cabinet has given the green light to remove eight individuals’ names from the Exit Control List (ECL) based on the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) recommendation.

Notably, the names of PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, along with Bushra Bibi, Farah Khan, and Zulfi Bukhari, will remain on the ECL. However, former principal secretary Azam Khan’s name has been removed.

Those whose names have been taken off the list are Raja Manzoor Kiani, Arif Rahim, Naveed Akbar, Sikandar Hayat, Nisar Muhammad, Ghulam Hyder, and Arif Nazeer Butt, all connected to the 190 million pound case.

Additionally, on April 22, the federal government removed the names of Murad Saeed and other PTI leaders from the ECL upon NAB’s recommendation. Notable figures include KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Ghulam Sarwar, Parvez Khattak, Shafqat Mahmood, and others.

Former principal secretary Azam Khan and others are witnesses in the National Crime Agency (NCA) £190 million scandal, where Khan previously provided a statement.

The NAB initiated an investigation against Imran Khan and others for allegedly profiting from land deals linked to the Al Qadir University Trust, causing a reported loss of 190 million pounds to the national exchequer.

It is alleged that funds sent by Britain’s NCA were used to benefit the Trust, registered by Khan for the Al-Qadir University Project in December 2019.
