Nasir Shah dismisses reports over infirmity of Asif Zardari

Nasir Hussain Shah dismissing reports over the infirmity of former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has said that he is very healthy and will be back to Bilawal House within a couple of days.

Nasir Shah said that Asif Zardari had undergone a medical procedure that was not a unique occurrence.

He also dismissed the reports of the severity of Zardari’s health as “rumors”, insisting that “rumours are rumours after all”.

Asif Ali Zardari was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi on Tuesday. According to some media reports, he was admitted to the hospital for carrying out some procedures on his lungs.

The party sources, who wished not to be named, said that Zardari, who had been resting in Karachi for the past few weeks after his return from Dubai was shifted to a hospital for a medical checkup. “Asif Zardari has been admitted to a private hospital in Clifton after his health deteriorated on Tuesday evening,” added the sources.

Dr. Asim Husain along with other specialists of chest diseases was examining Zardari and a medical procedure would be performed on his lungs. Zardari, who also underwent some tests during his stay in UAE few weeks back, was said to be under medication by doctors after being rushed to the hospital. The party leaders at Bilawal House remained silent on the shifting of the co-chairman of PPP.
