Nawaz Sharif vows to eliminate poverty

On Friday, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), made a commitment to address poverty if entrusted with power.

Speaking at a public gathering in Burewala, the three-time premier declared, “We will revive the good old times through collaborative efforts, shaping the destiny of the country to ensure employment for everyone.”

Expressing concern about the soaring price of tractors, he remarked, “Today, the tractor’s price has reached Rs3.8 million. During my tenure, it was Rs 900,000.”

Nawaz Sharif pledged to construct a motorway for Burewala.

Reflecting on his ouster, the former prime minister lamented, “If my government was not removed for receiving a salary, then nobody in the country would have faced unemployment.”

He emphasized, “Today, the price of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) is Rs 14,000. In our time, it was Rs 2,400. Even the price of urea was Rs 1,200, now it has reached Rs 5,000. Is this what ‘tabdeeli’ is all about?”

“The nation acknowledges how I served. During my tenure, vegetable prices were Rs 10 per kg. Today, flour, sugar, pulses, and vegetables are experiencing significant hikes. The country has been affected in such a way that there is no power today.”

He vowed that his party would put an end to inflation in the country.
