Newly appointed SSP ensures justice in alleged rape and murder case

Mr Sheeraz Nazeer Abbasi, the newly appointed Senior Superintendent of of Police (SSP) Badin, has said that justice would be ensured and served in a alleged rape and murder case of a married woman.

The SSP Badin on Friday said that the body of Ana Unnar, who was allegedly raped, murdered and then was buried in a graveyard near the tiny town of Luari Sharif would be exhumed to determine the cause of death and alleged sexual assault on her.

“I have ordered the police teams to investigate the case after a section of the media reported the incident,” he added and said that he would request the magistrate for the process of exhumation of the body of the victim.

Mr Abbasi sharing the details of the incident informed that a married Ana Unnar, who was mother of three minor kids, was allegedly tortured, raped and then killed by her close relatives in Hyderabad city and then her body was buried in a graveyard in Badin district.

He said that all those involved in the alleged incident would be arrested after the investigation. “The police teams are probing the incident from different angles to ascertain more facts,” he pointed out.

Mr Abbasi said that soon after taking the charge as the new SSP Badin, he had ordered the massive crackdown against those involved in types of the crimes throughout the district.

He said that his top priority would be to purge the district, which is also the home district of IG Sindh Police, Mr Ghulam Nabi Memon, of all crimes and social evils, which according to him, had beset the society.

He requested the media persons to pinpoint the real issues of the district so that corrective measures could be made to provide safety and security to the people of the district.
