October 25, 2023 has been marked the final day for voter registration, transfer, correction, and discharge,” announced a representative from the Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday.

The Election Commission of Pakistan also extended the opportunity for every Pakistani citizen aged 18 or older to inquire about their voting status by simply sending their CNIC number to the 8300 helpline.

The ECP spokesperson said that this registration opportunity was inclusive, allowing all citizens, regardless of gender, religious affiliation, physical abilities, or transgender status, to ensure their voter registration. In cases of incorrect registration or any errors, citizens were advised to visit their district election commission office.

It was further clarified that electoral rolls would be frozen after October 25, with no more registrations or transfers of votes accepted after this date. The ECP spokesperson highlighted that the Form 21 for voter registration or transfer was available on the election commission’s website. To complete the process, citizens were encouraged to submit Form 21, complete with their signature and thumb impression, at their respective district election commission office.

Additionally, it was noted that the head of a family could also submit the forms for their family members. The spokesperson emphasized that voter registration could only be established using the permanent or temporary residential address as stated on the individual’s identity card.
