The e-Khidmat Markaz located at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) has announced the commencement of the online driving test service as part of the ongoing Digital Driving Permit initiative. In a collaborative effort, the Punjab Traffic Police and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) are working towards enhancing the effectiveness of driving licenses across the province.

The initiation of the Driving Test Service at the e-Khidmat Centre ASTP represents the initial phase of a broader strategy to expand this service to all e-Khidmat Marakiz across Punjab. A dedicated meeting session played a crucial role in planning the seamless integration of the online driving test service into the existing e-Khidmat framework.

The interim administration had previously introduced multiple online facilities to streamline the process of obtaining a driving license. In December, the traffic police announced that citizens can now digitally renew their novice permits from the comfort of their homes. Affirming this advancement, the Lahore Traffic Police stated that the induction of online conveniences will reduce overcrowding at the Facilitation Centres by an impressive 90%.

Recently, the provincial authorities formally instituted increased fees for obtaining a driving license. In a message on X, the Lahore Traffic Police conveyed that people can now obtain their car and motorcycle learner’s permits for Rs. 500, valid for up to five years.
