Osman Khalid Butt shares heartfelt note for Noor Mukadam

On Monday, actor Osman Khalid Butt shared his thoughts on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Noor Mukadam’s 30th birthday. The popular actor recently attended a session devoted to ending gender-based violence, which was organised by Noor’s close friends.

Osman shared a heartbreaking image of Noor, mentioning that today, Noor Mukadam would have celebrated her 30th birthday. He went on to say, “Instead of celebrating with her, her family and loved ones, along with civil society members, ambassadors, diplomats and former members of the National Assembly came together for a seminar on endemic femicide and gender-based violence.”

In another set of tweets, the actor asked everyone to spare a moment to send prayers for Noor and her grieving family, and for every woman in Pakistan who has faced horrific violence.

“Justice must prevail. And it will, Insha’Allah. You may be gone, but you live on in all our hearts, Noor,” the actor said.

Previously, Osman was spotted raising his voice for Noor during a demonstration last year. “She was pure of heart and beautiful inside out. And everyone present here, everyone who knew her personally or even interacted with her briefly can attest to that. Noor was the brightest and the best among us,” the ‘Baalu Mahi’ actor said in a widely circulating video on social media.

On July 20, 2021, 27-year-old Noor was found dead in Zahir Jaffer’s residence in an affluent district of Islamabad. The culprit Zahir was later found guilty of Noor’s heinous murder and sentenced to death.
