Pakistan-England 2nd Women’s ODI abandoned due to rain

Persistent rain forced the abandonment of the second ODI between Pakistan and England’s women’s teams on Sunday.

Pakistan, opting to bat first after winning the toss, managed to score 29 runs in 6.5 overs before rain halted play.

With England leading the three-match series 1-0, both teams received one point each from the washout, affecting their standings in the ICC Women’s Championship

In the series opener, England defeated Pakistan by 37 runs, with Sophie Ecclestone’s bowling figures of 3/26 playing a key role.

Despite Nida Dar’s three wickets, England posted a competitive total of 243/9, with Alice Capsey top-scoring.

Facing a chase of 244, Pakistan struggled against England’s disciplined bowling, managing only 206/9 despite contributions from Muneeba Ali, Sadaf Shams, Nida Dar, and Aliya Riaz.

Sophie Ecclestone led England’s bowling attack, taking three wickets.The third ODI is set for May 29 in Chelmsford.
