Pakistani movies to watch this Eidul Azha

This year’s Eidul Azha is set to feature more local film releases compared to this year’s Eid ul-Fitr, with Pakistani films also competing against Hollywood and other foreign films.

At least four new films will be released on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, including the mega-cast science fiction film Umro Ayyar, the romantic comedy Na-baligh Afraad, as well as Abhi and Agent Anila.

In addition to these four new films, movie enthusiasts will also be able to watch older films in cinemas, including The Legend of Maula Jatt, Daghabaz Dil, Poppy Ki Wedding, among others.

Among the four new films being released this Eid, Umro Ayyar and Na baligh Afraad are being considered good films. However, viewers are hopeful that Abhi, featuring Kubra Khan and Goher Mumtaz, will also prove to be a good film, while the trailer for Agent Anila has left fans disappointed.

Agent Anila:

The story of Agent Anila was written by Qasim Gul Panhwar, who also directed and produced the film.

The film features actors Meera, Rida Isfahani, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Mustafa Qureshi, Shafqat Cheema, Muskan Nazir, Manzoor Murad, Pir Mazhar, and Mehboob Sultan, among others, in action roles.

In Agent Anila, legendary actors like Ghulam Mohiuddin and Mustafa Qureshi will be seen in action, alongside actors from Sindhi and Pashto dramas.

The trailer makes it difficult to grasp the full story of the film, but it suggests that one group aims to spread death and fear in Pakistan through a virus, while another group attempts to stop them.

Abhi:

With this film, Kubra Khan is returning to the big screen after at least four years, and Goher Mumtaz after nearly six years.

The cast of Abhi includes actors Saleem Sheikh, Usman Peerzada, Mehmood Aslam, Ehteshamuddin, Hina Bayat, and Asif Raza Mir, among others.

Goher Mumtaz wrote the story of the film with Shoaib Rabbani, and it is directed by Asad Malik.

The trailer makes it difficult to understand the complete story of Abhi, but it indicates that the film’s story revolves not only around romance but also tragedy and nationalism.

Na-aligh Afraad:

Directed by filmmaker Nabeel Qureshi, this romantic comedy is set in the 1990s. The trailer doesn’t reveal the complete story, but it suggests that the audience will get a taste of spice and excitement.

The cast of the film includes Ashir Wajahat and Sarmad Jafri, along with Ramha Ahmed and other actors. Half of the film’s cast comprises the younger generation, aged between 15 and 25, while the other half consists of senior actors.

The film also features Meraj Saleem, Mani, Rasheeda Tabassum, and Faiza Ahsan among others in action roles.

Umro Ayyar:

The science fiction film Umro Ayyar is directed by Azfar Jafri, with a story written by Atif Rehan Siddiqui and produced by Huma Babar.

The cast of Umro Ayyar includes Usman Mukhtar, Sanam Saeed, Faran Tahir, along with Ali Qazi, Adnan Siddiqui, Seemi Raheel, Sana Fakhar, Manzar Sehbai, Daniyal Raheel, and Salman Shaukat, among others.

It’s worth mentioning that the story of Umro Ayyar is based on the thousand-year-old Muslim literature “Dastan-e-Amir Hamza,” featuring the character of the same name.
