Pakistan’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to attend OIC summit in Gambia

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will also travel to The Gambia on May 3

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, is scheduled to depart from Saudi Arabia to attend the Foreign Ministers’ meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Banjul, Gambia.

The diplomatic gathering is slated for May 2 and 3 in Banjul, the Gambian capital.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will also travel to The Gambia on May 3 to participate in the OIC Heads of State meeting on May 4 and 5.

During their visit, both leaders will hold bilateral discussions with counterparts from key countries on the sidelines of the OIC meeting.

The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister are expected to return home on May 6, concluding their productive visit to The Gambia.

The summit comes at a crucial juncture, amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and offers an opportunity for OIC leaders to address pressing global issues, including Islamophobia and terrorism.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will attend the preceding OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting from May 2 to May 3.
