PCB announces match officials for Pakistan-New Zealand T20 series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the lineup of match officials for the upcoming series of five T20 international matches against New Zealand.

The inaugural match of the series is scheduled to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 18, with the Kiwi team expected to arrive in Pakistan late tonight.

For the Pak-New Zealand series, five umpires, including Ahsan Raza and Aleem Dar, have been assigned to oversee the matches. They are joined by Asif Yaqub, Rashid Riaz, and Faisal Afridi. Zimbabwe’s Andy Pycroft will serve as the ICC match referee.

Here’s the breakdown of match officials for each T20 match:

April 18: First T20 – Ahsan Raza and Aleem Dar (on-field umpires), Faisal Afridi (TV umpire), Rashid Riaz (reserve umpire), Andy Pycroft (match referee).

April 20: Second T20 – Asif Yaqub and Aleem Dar (on-field umpires), Ahsan Raza (TV umpire), Faisal Afridi (reserve umpire), Andy Pycroft (match referee).

April 21: Third T20 – Ahsan Raza and Asif Yaqub (on-field umpires), Rashid Riaz (TV umpire), Aleem Dar (reserve umpire), Andy Pycroft (match referee).

April 25: Fourth T20 – Faisal Afridi and Rashid Riaz (on-field umpires), Asif Yaqub (TV umpire), Ahsan Raza (reserve umpire), Andy Pycroft (match referee).

April 27: Fifth T20 – Rashid Riaz and Faisal Afridi (on-field umpires), Aleem Dar (TV umpire), Asif Yaqub (reserve umpire), Andy Pycroft (match referee).

Sources indicate that the Kiwi team, facing vulnerability, is adopting a more relaxed approach ahead of their trip.
