Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi halted the announcement of the Pakistan squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States and the West Indies, on Friday.
Sources indicated that Naqvi was displeased with the selection process, though he did not question the chosen players for the tournament.
Naqvi expressed disappointment over the lack of regular meetings by the selection committee. He stated, “The squad will not be announced until the selection process is complete.”
In response, Naqvi requested an explanation from the selection committee and called for a meeting to address the issue.
Previously, it had been reported that the Pakistan squad would be announced on May 24. All teams are required to finalize their World Cup squads by May 25.
