Peace protests against lawlessness in Bajaur

Thousands have gathered on Shandai Mor in Bajaur to demand the government end lawlessness in Bajaur and tribal districts.

People held rallies and protest sit-ins on the call of the Bajaur Amn Action Committee.

Protestors staged the protest and rallied to urge the government, police, and law enforcement agencies to put an end to spiking incidents of target killing, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and terrorism once and for all.

Awami National Party Provincial Assembly Members Sardar Hussain Babak, Nisar Mohmand, Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement Chief Manzoor Pashteen, member National Assembly Mohsin Dawar, Pakistan People’s Party ex-MNA Akhunzada Chattan, ex-senator Maulana Abdur Rashid, Maulana Khan Zaib, Gul Afzal, Shahabuddin Khan, Maulana Waheed Gul addressed the protestors.

The speakers stated that terrorism and lawlessness should not be accepted and that the administration must take appropriate steps to restore lasting peace.

They promised that no one would be allowed to spread terror to achieve their ulterior motives.

Activists from political parties and elders from almost all tribal groups also announced their complete backing for the protest sit-in, expressing outrage at the rising incidents of target-killing and lawlessness in the Bajaur tribal district.

Protesters held the federal and local institutions accountable for the security and protection of people and property.
