M.Phil student found dead from Karachi University’s hostel

On Monday, Mukhtiar Ali, an M. Phil student at Karachi University, was discovered lifeless in the HEJ Colony hostel, citing a spokesperson from the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS).

The ICCBS spokesperson stated that an M. Phil student had been found deceased in the hostel’s restroom within Karachi University’s HEJ Colony.

According to the spokesperson, Mukhtiar Ali entered the restroom at 9:00 am, and it was not until 6:00 pm that fellow students brought his lifeless body out.

Mukhtiar Ali was transported to Karachi University’s clinic. In 2020, he had enrolled in the organic chemistry program at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) and was conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Hina Siddiqui.

The spokesperson noted that both of Dr. Hina Siddiqui’s Ph.D. students had discontinued their studies.

It was clarified by the ICCBS spokesperson that the deceased student was not known to be unwell or taking any medications. Dr. Salman Zubair, KU Campus Advisor, confirmed the student’s demise.

The police reported that Mukhtiar Ali’s body was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to undergo legal procedures.
