Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre over the phone, expressing deep gratitude for Norway’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine following Israel’s military aggression.
“I appreciate the recent ICJ decision ordering Israel to stop its actions in Gaza and Rafah,” said PM Shehbaz to the Norwegian leader.
Both Norway and Pakistan support the UN-backed two-state solution as the best path to lasting peace in the Middle East, PM Shehbaz stated.
Shehbaz Sharif hoped that the bold and principled decision by Norway, Spain, and Ireland would inspire other countries to recognize Palestine.
“We also hope the international community pays similar attention to the plight of innocent Kashmiris facing brutal occupation,” added PM Shehbaz Sharif.
