PM Shehbaz reinstates Azam Nazeer Tarar as law minister

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar was reinstated as the federal minister of law and justice on Wednesday after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif rejected his resignation.

In accordance with a notification from the federal government, Tarar was given the responsibility for law and justice, and Ayaz Sadiq, federal minister for economic and political affairs, was no longer “holding the responsibility for law and justice.”

Speaking to local media a day earlier, Tarar claimed that the reason he agreed to take back his previous position was that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had declined to accept his resignation.

It has been reported that several federal ministers including Ishaq Dar, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Rana Sanaullah, and Ayaz Sadiq visited Tarar yesterday at his home in Islamabad and asked him to take over as the law minister.

Influential circles as per the media reports in the past had taken offense at the “anti-establishment slogans” uttered in his presence at the Asma Jahangir Conference last month.

He was the chief guest at a conference, and while he was speaking, some of the attendees were chanting anti-establishment chants.

Tarar left his position as the law minister after this event.
