President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have honored the enduring struggle of workers on International Workers’ Day.
President Zardari stated the challenges faced by the working class, including inflation and unemployment, and stressed the crucial role of the state in implementing policies to mitigate worker exploitation. He expressed hope that both federal and provincial governments would actively advocate for labor rights.
Shehbaz Sharif echoed the sentiment, acknowledging the sacrifices made by workers for Pakistan’s development and highlighting the disproportionate impact of inflation on the labor class.
He announced plans for a national Labor conference to address workers’ rights and stated the importance of steady economic revival, acknowledged by various projects aimed at enhancing technical and professional skills.
