PM Shehbaz Sharif reaches Tehran to condole Raisi’s death

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a significant one-day visit to Iran on Wednesday to offer his condolences following the tragic death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to meet with Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Acting President Dr. Mohammad Mokhbar. He will convey the heartfelt condolences of the Pakistani government and its people, expressing solidarity and sympathy over the loss of the esteemed Iranian leaders.

A press release from the Prime Minister’s Office detailed that several high-ranking Pakistani officials are accompanying Prime Minister Sharif on this visit. These include Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.

This visit acknowledges the close diplomatic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran, as well as Pakistan’s commitment to standing by Iran during this period of mourning.
